For thin batt...Afton, that's a great question. For thin batter, I pour it into something with a spout (I use a 4c. Pyrex measuring cup)' for thick batter (Carrot Cake, Lemon Cake) I use an ice cream scoop. These techniques keep the batter where I want it..baking and less mess.
